Professor Glenn Reynolds is the guest for the first half hour. The second half hour is an Open Lines program. Professor Reynolds is a law professor at the University of Tennessee and co-author of the book, Outer Space: Problems of Law and Policy. During his interview, Professor Reynolds discusses space policy in the U.S., Europe, Russia, and China. We also talk about space law and property rights, its history and the continued development of space law and property right, especially in light of the entrepreneurial activity for space commerce. Professor Reynolds comments extensively on the attitude about space commerce and development represented by those that adhere to the ideology that space and the Moon is for everyone, even a farmer in an African village, thus sites and locations in space should be "world heritage sites." Professor Reynolds explains why this thinking is counter-productive to becoming space-faring. The second half of this program is an Open Lines discussion. Several e-mail and IM chat questions were received covering topics discussed with Professor Reynolds to issues of space business ethics to what the government may not be telling us regarding Mars which has energized them to send a rash of unmanned missions to Mars.
