John Batchelor and I welcomed back Dr. Haym Benaroya to discuss humans returning to the Moon and going to set foot on Mars. Dr. Benaroya spoke to timelines for both destinations, said we should do the Moon to enhance our visit to Mars with the Moon happening around 2030 and Mars around five years later. Also discussed was the difference in radiation for both places, the gravity of each and what we know about humans in partial gravity. Haym responded to questions about growing food in the lunar soil as compared to the Martian soil. Dr. Benaroya described the first round of habitats on both places and even commented on initially living in the Starship that brought them to Mars. This was a one segment discussion but chocked full of great information and facts.
