We welcomed in the first Open Lines program for 2023.  In the opening minutes, I update the listeners on the annual fund raising campaign, The Space Show book, and my upcoming knee surgery which may impact my Space Show schedule.  If you have not yet heard the Open Lines program, please do listen to it as I was very transparent during the first part when reviewing these topics.

As we turned to space topics on this Open Lines program, Fremont John called to correct me on the probable Starship launch date which I said was maybe going to happen the end of January.  I missed the update that might take the launch to March or April.  Listen to Fremont John on this topic. John had multiple topics for discussion on his mind, then he kindly posted them on the blog with links so you can follow up on those of interest to you.

Ft. Worth John called about the final release of the UAP report which was not impressive. We also talked about commentary on the report by Dr. Avi Loeb. Both the report and the Loeb commentary have been posted on the blog. John also mentioned that Russia was letting us know that they shot down a UFO/UAP. Listen to John tell the story.  A penny for your thoughts about it so post on our blog.  Marshall called to talk about SSP and some comments on it by Oklahoma State college students - comments that were surprisingly ignorant of anything factual.  He mentioned the topic of climate change which led me to caution blog posters about slamming individuals and calling people names because they don't share your beliefs or ideology. Don't miss my short rant on this as I intend to enforce our simple blog rules of civility and mutual respect when posting for 2023.  As we were about to end, Ryan called us to talk about The Space Show, SLS potential pollution and more.  By the way, before Marshall got off the phone, I asked and received his do it yourself airplane report.  Remember, Marshall is building a home made airplane.  I asked for his progress update only to hear than he was running into FAA delays and waiting, waiting, waiting.

Please post your comments/questions on our blog.  You can reach any of our callers through me here at The Space Show.
