John Batchelor and I welcomed Rebecca Hahn (Becca) to the program to discuss her doctoral dissertation study project of mapping all the volcanoes on Venus. We talked about her work, the map and volcanoes on Venus. Multiple other topics were discussed such as the Magellan radar imaging resolution and the hope for enhanced resolution from the three new missions to Venus taking place over the next decade. Becca said the new imaging should allow the inclusion on the map of maybe thousands of smaller volcanoes that cannot be seen with the Magellan imaging. We talked about how volcanos on Venus probably erupted plus in the second part, Becca told us what she would like to do with her work were she to have an unlimited budget.
