We welcomed Dr. Siegel back to the program to discuss his paper, "Why Earth is the only planet with plate Tectonics." In addition to our plate tectonics discussion, other topics got my attention. Later in the discussion, Ethan was asked about the UAP issue we have discussed on many Space Show programs. I asked him about the items moving in a way that defies the rules of physics as we know them. This comment has been said by many regarding the UAP discussion. This opened the door for Ethan to speak about the rules of physics as we know them to be. Our guest had quite a bit to say about rules of physics, what we know and don't know. Plus he said that just because don't understand how something works, it does not mean it violates the rules of physics. Perhaps we don't know how it works but in the end, when we come to understand it, the behavior of the item does complies with the rules of physics as we know them to be. Another thing Ethan said was while we may not know all the rules of physics, others might know more, especially in the black or ultra secret world of military and science technology development. I thought this was a terrific discussion and what our guest had to say about the rules of physics not only got my attention, it opened me up to not buying into UAP movements that we don't understand or can't reproduce having to be alien because they are not obeying the rules of physics. The bottom line is that is not always so. I strongly urge you to listen to what our guest said about this topic. I think it was a real eye opener.
I also found it interesting when our guest attempted an answer for what Earth might be like today if it did not have plate tectonics. This came up about midway in our conversation. Don't miss the actual question or how Ethan responded to it. Another portion of the discussion I found interesting was his early discussion about plates, multiple plates, and icy surfaces or worlds like Enceladus.
