John Batchelor and I welcomed back Anatoly Zak to discuss the upcoming Russian mission to the Moon with their Luna-Glob lander finally ready for prime time having been started back in the 1990's. Note that Russia changed the name of the mission/lander to Luna 25. The lander will search for water in the northern latitudes and if found in any quantity it will be a significant discovery as Anatoly described for us. In addition, we talked about the Russian arm, compared it to the Canadian arm on the ISS though the Russian Arm has a scoop and penetration device on it unlike the Canadian arm. Also discussed was Roscosmos entering into agreements with the UAE plus the fact that this lunar mission will represent the first cluster mini satellite mission for the Russian space program. Other topics were brought up during this one segment program.
