John Batchelor and I welcomed Dr. Seth Shostak of SETI to discuss their searches for ET intelligence plus their new COSMIC Project. The COSMIC Project piggybacks onto the VLA near Socorro, NM, a very large radio telescope array and searches their noise data for signals or waves that might warrant a further ET search of that item or area in the universe. Seth talked about using optical SETI and lasers in space for searches. He also talked about timelines for Earth and other planets or bodies where there might have been time for advanced life to develop. Other topics were brought up during this one segment Hotel Mars program the estimated 75 light time Earth has been leaking radar, TV and FM signals to space.
