We welcomed Dr. Awesome to the show to discuss not only The Futurist Society podcast series but how Dr. Awesome sees space helping to drive and create our future. Early in the discussion, our guest talked about being influenced by the Overview Effect along with the advances in satellite communication technologies.  He was keen on the development of space tourism for more folks to get to space for the impact space might have on them.  Our guest had lots of additional comments and accolades for space influencing the West, our specific society and in fact all the world.  Once again, I draw your attention to the program Tags as they fairly represent the majority of our topics along with topic analysis.  I've repeated the topics below for your convenience.

Tags:  Dr. Imran Ahson (Dr. Awesome), space and the future, The Futurist Society podcast, Overview Effect, multi-planet species, space awareness, evolution, satellite capabilities, venture capital financing, space tourism, zero g, off Earth to open up space, lunar time lines, Mars challenges, ET life possibilities, new propulsion needs, Starship as paradigm shifting tool, lunar launch from the 60's example, Starship energizing the public, family in space, ISS, regulatory concerns, AI risks and dangers, the GravityRX, children in space, O'Neill colonies, large spinning infrastructure for artificial 1 g, ethics and medical ethics, gravity in LEO challenges, artificial wombs, "Magical Thinking," technology today to go forward, don't make plans on "what if," being a magical thinker, living in free space

I thought it was most interesting to hear our guest talk about the Moon over Mars for human development, settlement and space.  Dr. Awesome had much to say on this topic so please listen to it and let us know what you think regarding his perspective.  I know many of you prefer or strongly suggest Mars over the Moon so please post your comments on what our guest said as we want to hear from you.  Dr. Awesome's comments during the part of our discussion focusing on the GravityRX, children in space and related topics were most interesting.  He talked about needing large structures in space for O'Neil like structures due to the spinning to get to 1 g artificial gravity.  Here, he brought in future concepts and possible new technologies that would make a difference. He mentioned the idea behind the artificial womb as one future potential outcome that would prove beneficial.

Near the end of the program with a caller on the line, the subject of new tech came up again, this time in the context of Magical Thinking.  Our caller wanted no part of magical thinking, i.e. fantasy for the most part.  After this magical thinking discussion, Dr. Awesome turned it around and said he wanted to be a space magical thinker.  How about that?

Please post your comments/questions for Dr. Awesome on our blog.  You can reach him and hear his podcasts at The Future Society Podcast (https://www.thefuturistsociety.net/episodes).
