Alfred Zaehringer was the guest for this Space Show program. Mr. Zaehringer focused on rocket economics during the program, explaining in detail why it is difficult and maybe impossible to substantially lower the cost of getting to LEO, the Moon, or anyplace in space. Mr. Zaehringer afforded Space Show listeners a unique opportunity to hear a different perspective, one that is steeped in science, engineering and rocket know-how.

Peter Kokh, the President of the Moon Society, was the guest for this Space Show program. The interview started with Mr. Kokh telling us what the Moon Society is, along with the Lunar-Reclamation Organization. I then asked him to elaborate on his position which was reflected at www.lunar-reclamation.org regarding the new space policy initiative proposed by President Bush. His position paper on this new policy both supports the overall concept approach but opposes several of the assumptions used to explain the policy.

Tom Olson, CEO of the Colony Fund, began the discussion this evening with an update regarding the Colony Fund. Given that his program will soon be going through public SEC registration, Tom must continue to be discrete and virtually silent on what is happening with the Fund. However, in response to questions, he talked about investment criteria, including opportunities from other countries, ITARS and more.

Richard Westfall discussed the legal concept of telepossession and how it can be used to facilitate mining in-situ resources on the Moon, nearby asteroids and elsewhere in space. Richard went into some detail explaining how the concept works, that it is based on the legal concept of first possession and not salvage rights as was initially understood. He explained why first possession is so important for developing space commerce and getting the necessary financing for commercial space projects.

John Garvey, CEO of Garvey Spacecraft Corporation, was the guest for this program. Mr. Garvey provided us with a thorough understanding of Garvey Spacecraft and its vehicle test and flight program, student programs, and its relationship with Long Beach State University.

Professor Joanne Gabrynowicz returned to the program to give us a legal update on important matters influencing space development, space commerce and our road toward becoming space-faring. We began our discussion with a legal discussion of the concepts introduced in HR 5382. We explored what the term "informed consent" means as well as many aspects of this pending legislation and its impact upon the regulatory environment.

Frank Sietzen joined us today for a special program updating us on four important developments. These developments included the announcement that NASA Administrator Sean O'Keefe had resigned, that virtually all of the requested NASA budget was approved, new details for the CEV were starting to be made public, and the passage by Congress of HR 5382. We began the discussion asking Frank for his thoughts on HR 5382 and he is supportive of the legislation. He clearly states why during the interview and does not believe that AST or anyone else will over regulate this new industry.

Robert Zimmerman returned to the program for this special show to do an in-depth analysis of the new Commercial Space Launch Amendments Act of 2004. Mr. Zimmerman went into great detail as to why he is not supportive of this legislation and why he cautions others in their support of it. Mr. Zimmerman sat in the hot seat for much of the program as caller after caller kept taking him to task regarding his view and understanding of this bill.

Scott P. Sullivan was the guest on this Space Show program, discussing his two books, "Virtual Apollo" and "Virtual LM." Mr. Sullivan discussed his modeling and CAD programming to produce both books, their accuracy, and how he did the research to provide us with these drawings. In the process of discussing these books and in particular his newest book, "Virtual LM," many other related issues came up pertaining to Apollo and the LM.
